Could it contribute to Israel’s security, or is it a “threat to our survival” as Prime Minister Netanyahu stated.

Iran: Rigged elections and video tapes http://middleeastanalyst.com/2014/06/05/iran-rigged-elections-and-video-tapes/ Thu, 05 Jun 2014 11:33:40 +0000 http://middleeastanalyst.com/?p=537 I am sure you still remember the 2009 presidential elections in Iran. The one which the opposition said was rigged.

A controversial video has now been leaked in which the head of the Revolutionary Guards confirms that his organization intervened in those elections, because they didn’t like the impending result. So the opposition was right, the 2009 elections were rigged.

My latest article looks at the implications of this new video. Please share with family and friends.

#Iran – #Russia energy deals no threat to nuclear talks http://middleeastanalyst.com/2014/05/01/527/ Thu, 01 May 2014 09:59:40 +0000 http://middleeastanalyst.com/?p=527 Israel and the United States do not have much cause for concern about reports of two multi billion dollar deals being negotiated between Iran and Russia.

Neither deal is likely to increase Iran’s leverage so it could ignore the nuclear negotiations. Nor is it likely that the deals will boost Iran’s leverage at the talks.

Ahmadinejad’s return may be boost for Rouhani http://middleeastanalyst.com/2014/04/21/ahmadinejads-return-may-be-boost-for-rouhani/ Mon, 21 Apr 2014 08:41:12 +0000 http://middleeastanalyst.com/?p=522 Rouhani is the anti-Ahmadinejad and vice versa.

Their supporters view the other side with deep suspicion and animosity.

Yet the return of Ahmadinejad to Iranian politics could be good news for Rouhani.

Sounds counter intuitive?

Read below to find out why it could make sense.

Difficult to believe, but true.

So fast that it has had many people baffled.

For example: why is it when Iran’s economy was in the doldrums the TSE was rising, and now that some of the sanctions are being removed its seeing historic falls?

Just what is going on?

That I am not keeping up with my people’s traditions. Why? because tomorrow is Christmas day and I don’t know a good Chinese restaurant to eat at. Oy vey! :-)

I hope my latest article makes up for it.
In 2014, to foresee Iran’s behavior at the nuclear negotiations, we must look at domestic politics.
